Privacy Policy
Effective 30 September 2026
This policy explains what the ReplySmith Chrome extension and its backend service ("ReplySmith", "we") collect, why, and what we do with it. ReplySmith is operated by Durai Subramani, India. Contact: ashrishi0603@gmail.com.
In short: we don't access your Gmail account, we don't store your emails, we never sell data, and we use your Google email address only to run your account and subscription.
1. What we collect
Google account email address and account ID
From Google sign-in: in the extension, using the "userinfo.email" permission only. If you upgrade on our website with "Continue with Google", Google also shares your name and profile picture; we don't store them.
The email conversation you choose to reply to
Subject, message text and sender addresses, plus the reply idea you pick and any instructions you type.
Usage records
Number of drafts per month, and events such as "draft generated" or "send clicked" with Gmail's internal thread and message IDs. No email text.
Subscription records
Razorpay subscription ID, status, plan, currency and paid-through date.
Feedback you send
Your message, the type of feedback, your email address if you choose to give it, the extension version and your browser type.
Reply preferences
Tone, formality, length and role.
We do not collect card, UPI or bank details. Payments are handled entirely by Razorpay on its own secure checkout page.
2. Who processes data for us
- Groq, Inc. (USA) runs the AI model that generates summaries and drafts. The email text of your request is sent to Groq to produce the result.
- Render (USA) hosts our backend service.
- Neon (USA) hosts our database of accounts, usage and subscription records. It holds no email content.
- Razorpay (India) processes subscription payments.
- Google provides sign-in.
These providers process data only to provide their service to us. Some are located outside India; by using ReplySmith you agree to this transfer.
3. Google user data
ReplySmith requests only your Google account's email address (the userinfo.email scope). It does not request access to Gmail, Google Drive or any other Google data through Google APIs. ReplySmith's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We do not use this data for advertising, do not sell it, and do not use it to train AI models.
4. What we never do
- Sell or rent your personal data.
- Read your inbox or any email you haven't asked ReplySmith to reply to.
- Send email on your behalf.
- Use your email content to train AI models.
5. Your rights and choices
You can ask us to access, correct or delete your data, or to close your account, by emailing ashrishi0603@gmail.com. We respond within 30 days. Uninstalling the extension removes its local preferences from your browser. You can revoke ReplySmith's sign-in access at any time from your Google Account's "Third-party apps & services" page. These rights apply under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, and, where applicable, laws such as the EU and UK GDPR.
6. Security
All connections use HTTPS. Access to our systems is restricted, and email content is never written to our database or logs.
7. Children
ReplySmith is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
8. Changes
We will post changes on this page and update the effective date. Material changes will be announced in the extension or by email.
